Waking Up Daddy

The other day Micah feel asleep on the floor, so I put KJ on his back and she started to yell at him until he woke up. He found it quite funny.

Vacation!

Mommy and KJ took our first vacation down South for some sunshine and to meet her great grandparents. She was a great traveler, but so not impressed with the sunshine. Next time, when it is warmer, we are going to swim. We can't wait.

Copycat

Every morning when KJ and mommy wake up for breakfast, I place her in her rocker, tell her that her bottle will be ready in one minute, and show her my index finger. The other morning she started laughing when I did it. Which was wonderful, it wasn't the first time that she had laughed though, the first time the she laughed was a few nights earlier. Our sweet sleeping angel decided that she wanted to see what it was like to pull an all-nighter. She woke up at 1:00 AM and didn't fall back asleep until 4:30 AM. She was wide awake. Every time I tried to put her in her bed she laughed at me. Anyway, back to the other day, every time I told her one minute and showed her my finger, she laughed and laughed. It was later that day that I realized she was copying my fingers.

Growin' Like a Weed!

We went to the doctor this morning and KJ is growing, growing, growing. She is 23 inches long and weighs 9 lbs 12 oz, she is in the 75th percentile for height and the 25th percentile for weight, which is good considering that we started out under the 10th percentile for weight. She is almost too long for her 0-3 month clothes, but they are still really baggy on her, it must just be terrible to be tall and skinny- the poor thing can't catch a break :)

BIG GIRLS NEED NAPS TOO!

Sometimes KJ falls asleep while eating and that is making a Gassy Gal. Waking the baby, according to the books, should be easy.  Changed her diaper? Check. Sang to her? Check. Undressed her? Yep. Changed her diaper, again? Unfortunately, yes. We have tried sitting her up like a big girl, thinking (like novices) that, oh, I don’t know, that she would be too uncomfortable to sleep or that she wouldn't be able to balance and that would wake her up. Well, you know what? It didn’t, she actually looked quite comfortable and her balance is just fine. But, seriously, how cute is this?

I tried making strange noises, and that worked once and then she was on to me. Score: KJ- 1, Mommy- Nice Try. I don’t know what I am complaining about, last week she slept for 8.5 hours one night and since then has consistently slept for 6-6.5 hours every night. It really is quite magical. She even sleeps through the flash!

Love...

Is all you really need. Ever since our first Valentine’s Day together Micah and I have had a strict homemade gifts rule. This year, I am considering breaking it. I know. I know. It goes against our policy, but there is something that he has had his eye for a long time and I really want to get it for him. I just don’t know what to do. On the one hand, homemade gifts has been what makes Valentines so special to us and on the other hand, I know that he will love this gift that I am thinking about getting him. What to do? What to do?
